Looking for something to do on Sunday(09 December) evening?
If it isn't raining and the grass isn't too soggy, the place to head for is the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage at the Botanical Gardens.
Between 5 and 6pm the Nanyang Poytechnic orchestra are holding a free concert. If you haven't been to this part of the Botanical Gardens, there is a lovely expanse of lawn opposite the stage; perfect for an evening picnic while listening to live music.
Established in 2002, the Nanyang Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra is the first polytechnic symphony orchestra in Singapore. Having performed in both local and overseas venues, participated in competitions and charity concerts, the orchestra has definitely demonstrated their strength and skills to a multicultural audience. They will be performing popular pieces such as Swan Lake and The Phantom of the Opera.

Date: 09 December, 2007
