Experiencing live theatre is a thrilling journey for any child. It lets him or her escape into a make-believe world where anything is possible. Their imaginations are nurtured and if done properly, a performance can be entertaining, enlightening and educational. My children have been to a few productions at the Singapore Repertory Theatre and have always been mesmerised by the whole excursion.
"The Little Company" is a division of the Singapore Repertory Theatre which produces quality plays specifically for children aged 2 - 12. They believe that theatre can help children develop socially, mentally, and emotionally and that children deserve quality theatre as much as adults.

The Little Company's next play will be The Emperor's New Clothes, by Hans Christian Anderson. This follows the very successful run of Scrooge - The Musical which was attended by close to 20,000 children and parents over the 2007 holiday season. The classic story of The Empero's New Clothes is presented in an intimate performance setting, with songs and audience participation. It promises to teach and remind both children and adults alike to always stand up for what they believe in and not to be led blindly by others. This fun and entertaining play also acts as a great reminder that the truth will always come to light!

If you haven't been to Singapore Reperatory Theatre it is housed in the DBS Arts Centre. It is in a good positon, linked to Robertson Walk right by Singapore River, with many restraunts, cafes and bars in the vicinity.

The Emperor's New Clothes will run from 12 March - 19 April, 2008
