Pony rides are now available at Horse City. I was there this morning for yoga at Om Shiva Yoga, and there were kids being led around the beautiful big fig tree opposite Picotin. In truth, the "pony" looked more like a horse to me; it was definitely no Shetland pony, but nevertheless, the children were enjoying the experience.

Rides are $10 which seems reasonable for three circles of the tree. You can also book the ponies for parties and functions.

It is a public holiday today (Vesak Day) so there were lots of people having breakfast at Picotin and it was great to see the whole area alive and buzzing. I must try breakfast here one day as it is a lovely spot and I have heard from friends that the food is very good.

You could describe the restaurant/bistro as casually chic, with a shaded al fresco dining area which is perfect for breakfast. It is great if you are with kids as there are no cars in the area and it is quite open and safe. Kids had bikes and scooters and the parents could enjoy the scene while enjoying their breakfast.

For more information and to confirm availability for the Pony Rides, call 6463 6012
They are available 10-12noon and 3-7pm weekdays and public holidays only.
SG$10 for 3 turns around the tree.

I remember, the Singapore Zoo has a similar pony ride (actually, not riding but sitting on the pony while it walks).

Just fyi to those who read this. I've just called and the information on this website is outdated or incorrect. They are not open on Fridays. The hours are 10-12 and 3-7 on weekends and public holidays only. Best to call before in case of reserved riding for a party only OR weather OR sick animals, etc... Also, it is NOT $2, but $10 for 3 rides around the tree. $2 is for feeding the ponies. The telephone number above is correct, though!
