My dear friend Rebecca is visiting from Australia for two weeks so we are planning out sightseeing itinerary. Today we visited Din Tai Fung in the Paragon and ate delicious Shanghainese pork dumplings. These delicate dumplings are my favourite food in the world and Din Tai Fung do some of the best I have tried in Singapore. For a great review of the restaurant chain click on this link:

We waddled out after overstuffing ourselves (unlike the dumplings which were definitely not overstuffed) and took a taxi to McRitchie Reservoir for a much needed walk. This was lovely. We spotted a family of macaque monkeys playing in the trees, a couple of monitor lizards and lots of turtles. It was great to show Rebecca this side of Singapore after the hectic pace of Orchard Road.

Here are some other things on our list to do over the next two weeks. We may not manage everything as we are also going to Sea Gypsy for the weekend (unfortunately we'll miss the National Day Parade again).
  1. Swimming at the local pool

  2. Night Safari

  3. Singapore Flyer

  4. Botanical Gardens

  5. Masala Dosai at Little India

  6. Get a babysitter and go for disco night at the Ministry of Sound (yeha)

  7. Cable Car to Sentosa

  8. High Tea at Raffles Hotel

Lets see how we do with all that! If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Take a cruise to Kusu Island. We did the Imperial Cheng Ho recently when my mother in law was visiting from Sydney and it was very pleasant (http://www.watertours.com.sg/)

Thanks for the suggestion. I am wondering if the cruise may be a bit boring for the children, as it is about 2 and a half hours long. A little look at Kusu Island could be interesting though.

My boys (4.5 and 2.5) loved the cruise, for them it was not long enough ;-) Also, there is a turtle sanctuary on Kusu and they were able to touch a turtle - a bonus!
