It is true that Halloween hasn't had the same impact in Singapore as it has in places like USA, but it is still observed and there are still parties and events organised to help you enjoy this fun and spooky time.
As most of the population live in apartments, the trick or treating hasn't really taken off with the local community, as my fellow blogger Eastcoastlife points out. There are however, some mainly expat communities that organise door to door trick or treating. The area of Woodlands is well know for this, as many Americans live here because of the proximity to the Singapore American School (SAS). I haven't been, but I hear that many of the houses are decorated and it is quite acceptable for people not living in the area to join in, although I bet they run out of candy early on.
GoGo Bambini is having a Kids' Halloween Party on Friday 31st October, 5.30pm-7.30pm. Tickets are S$35 which includes activities, games, disco-dancing, party food and goodie bags. This will surely be loads of fun for the kids as the staff at GoGoBambini always throw in everything they have to these parties and make sure the kids have an exciting time. Tickets can be bought at reception or call Tel: 65 6474 4176
The Night Safari are also having their annual Halloween event which they are calling the Halloween Cocktail Express. This sounds really spooky to me, although they say they do have some people bringing their infants along. Yikes! It's 45 minutes on a ghost train through the "haunted rainforest" with entertainers popping out trying to scare you and morbid cocktails with eyeballs floating around and ghoul-inspired snacks!
This is happening every Friday and Saturday night until 1st November, with three rides a night (7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm). Book soon though because many of the tickets are sold out. Call 65 6360 8643 to book or for more information visit the Night Safari website. Tickets are S$50 per adult and S$40 per child (3-12years). This includes entry to the Night Safari.

Are you going to try the Night Safari Halloween Party? It should be quite fun... meeting monsters and ghosts in a dark forest. hehe...
well Halloween i love it
Do you know where in the Woodlands we can take our children trick or treating? They were so disappointed to miss halloween last year because we didn't know where to go here.
its somewhere near the american school. about 10 minutes walk(approximately) from marsling MRT. i am kinda physced for it. eventhough im like 18. but i think it would be a great experience for kids. i went there when i was 15 and the atmosphere was terrific. this year i plan to go and take photos of people in costumes.
Thanks Kamellia
I am assuming that the streets off Woodlands Avenue 1 would be a good place to start for anyone wanting to experience Halloween in Woodlands...is that right?
Enjoy yourself; I'd love to see your photos.
Hihi, Do you know what time does most of e halloween trick-treating at woodgrove happens? is it in e day or at night?
@winnie
I would say that the trick or treating will start after dark, so around 7pm. Don't get there too late cos the treats are sure to run out pretty fast. Not sure weather its happening Friday 31st or Saturday 1st though..can anyone help?
Thanks Milly :) ! i m guessing probably 31st cos its e actual day. however, if anyone has news its on 1st nov instead, pls do drop a note. Cheers!
Hi, does anyone knows if there will be any similar events in Woodlands area this year? Does it happen on the actual day only or over the weekend?
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
Yvonne
It is always on the 31st no matter what day it lands on and usually after dark but you must be in costume to get treats^_^
How I wish that I could visit Singapore and let my children enjoy the whole holloween event. Children will definitely love this exciting event.
You can have your own Halloween Party for a reasonable price with that Kids Party SG company - www.kidspartysg.com
Or condo have them coming in to do the Triller Show...
