Have you picked up a copy of Expat Living Kids' Guide 2009 yet? It is full of great information, and not just for expats. But if you are new to Singapore, it's an invaluable resource for all kid related matters in Singapore. Small enough to carry around for easy reference, this is $5 well spent.

I have learnt a lot by reading the guide. For instance, women in Singapore are opting for homebirthing in increasing numbers, even though a registered midwife must attend the early stages of labour, and there are no registered midwives in Singapore who attend homebirths. Women are actually opting to fly in their midwife from their home country so that they can have a home birth.

There is also useful information on childhood ailments common in Singapore, Asian food for kids, special needs education, party planning and places to visit in and around Singapore. Make sure you check out the lovely picture on page 228. Yes, they are my kids enjoying their holiday in Sarawak.
Available at all newsagents.

Hi, you have a nice blog, good information on where kids can go in Singapore.

I am not Expat, but I am looking for information on where to go for my almost-2-year-old toddler.

I will put a link from my blog to yours. I will check it out oftern. :)

By the way, thanks for dropping by my blogs, do leave me comments, if any. :) I am new on blogging.

Hello Milly, we just moved to Singapore from NYC April 2007. I just had a baby. She is 6.5 months now and your post regarding kids not turning into brats is the parents' responsibility definitely caught my attention. I completely agree with you on your take on this subject. All we need to do is to teach and show examples to our kids to respect, be grateful and enjoy life! Thank you for your wonderful post. :)
