Children in the village of Chamcar Bei, Cambodia by allthegearnoidea
My good friend Kylie is heading to Cambodia in a few weeks to take part in the annual "Kep Trio Event", a sporting event designed to raise cash to support the fantastic work of ‘Bridges across Borders’ and in particular their ‘Hand in Hand Cambodia’ project in the Chamcar Bei village. The three events consist of a half marathon, a 10km run and a 10km bike ride. Through sponsorship, the people involved will raise money that will go directly towards making sustainable improvements in the quality of life of the villagers, particularly in the areas of health and education.
Kylie is very excited about this opportunity, both as a way to help this remote Cambodian village, and also as a way to educate her young children who will travel with her and stay in the village. It is also a wonderful way to experience the Cambodian countryside, as she will be peddling through paddy fields, beside a pepper plantation, and over a reservoir. At the end of the bike ride, all the bikes will be handed over to the villagers.
If you would like more information, or would like to sponsor Kylie in the way of a donation, please visit the Bridges Across Borders website. If you'd like to make a donation, click the Donate Now Button. There is also a section to tick a box "on behalf of" where you can put Kylie's name "Kylie Jones" or her registration number "142". Any small donation would be great.
