Getting the kids ready for the start of the new school year can never start too soon. I am determined this year not to leave all the organising to the last minute, as per usual. In the past I race around panicking, trying to find school shoes that fit, socks that don't have holes, bags and uniforms that are the right size. And a good water bottle that doesn't leak and an insulated lunch box are essential for humid Singapore.

This year I am also going to be SUPER organised and label all their school kit with labels from www. I am sick of scribbling their names on water bottles, trying to fit the name somewhere on the uniform labels, and inside hats, to find that it washes off. I am also sick of the kids losing hats, shoes, swimming costumes and water bottles. When I was a child all my shirts and uniforms were labeled with embroidered name tags which had to be sewn on. That kind of thing is left for pure super mums these days.

Infinitely easier is to use the funky labels at For clothes they offer colourful labels or name tag tattoos that can simply be ironed (or sewn if you prefer) onto clothes and are designed to stay on for years of washing and drying. There are also high quality vinyl labels for shoes, bags, bottles and lunch boxes, and all labels are waterproof, dishwasher and microwave proof, and also U.V resistant. All labels are 100% Australian owned, printed and made using recycled, non-toxic material whenever possible.

There are lots of shapes and sizes of labels, as well as allergy labels to inform teachers of nut, diary, gluten allergies. This is a terrific idea, and must be a real relief for parents with allergic children. A great way to have a range of stickers for all the school bits is to buy a value pack which includes bag tags, sticky labels for lunch boxes and water bottles and wrist bands.

There are also camp labels packs, boarding school label packs, value packs for children 0-5 years and above 5 years. There are also dog tags available, made form quality embossed stainless steel and can be used for luggage tags, pet tags, medical alerts, bag tags and come in lots of pretty colours.

Hi :-) I will definitely order some of those!
My boys are starting Chatsworth at the end of August and I am trying to get organised as well. And here comes my question. I would love to know what sort of school shoes do they require at Chatsworth. Leather? Canvas? And where do you buy them? I will be greatful for your advice :-)

Hi Agnieszka,
Chatsworth specify black school shoes, and I have always bought leather for my kids although some children do wear canvas. They are not too strict as long as they are black. White socks too although some odd coloured socks do creep into class photos! I bought my kids' shoes in a little shop in Holland Village Shopping Center, above Cold Storage (second floor I think). They also sell some children's clothes, underwear, pajamas, a few toys and bits. They don't have a huge selection of shoes, but they do stock Clarkes.
Good Luck, I'm sure your kids will love Chatsworth :)
