I hope every one had a great weekend enjoying the festivities of the Mid-Autumn Festival here in Singapore. Unfortunately I missed it; actually I can't believe it passed me by. I was a little disappointed that there were no lanterns by the river this year, or at the Chinese Gardens, and I'm sure this made Chinatown a squeeze. To ease my conscience, I found some pretty photos on a blog here.
Next weekend will be a busy one as the Utsav; the Deepavali Street Parade is happening on Saturday night, 10th October. This week is a wonderful time to visit Little India, as Serangoon Road is lit up with arches of lights and the temples are decorated with garlands of flowers and offerings from devotees and the bazaar at Campbell Lane is in full swing. I visited Little India during Deepavali last year with Maya's class and it was lots of fun.
Dozens of street artists and dancers will transform Little India into one big party on Saturday night so I won't be missing this one!
