Ben with matching cake from ecreatve

We have just celebrated Ben's 7th birthday with a simple party at West Coast Park. It is always a gamble having an outdoor party in Singapore, but we were blessed with a cooling wind and cloudy skies but no rain.

Of course one of the focal points of the party is the birthday cake. For the last few years I have used Smiling Orchid for the cake (you can see his wonderful pirate cake here), but this year I decided to try a different bakery. Surfing around I came across, and was impressed by their huge selection of cakes for every occasion.

It didn't take me long to find a birthday cake for Ben-this Manchester United jersey for our resident soccer addict. So I gave ecreative a call and ordered, paid and sorted out delivery all in few minutes. The cake was 2kg and cost S$95 plus GST. But the best part was that ecreative offer free delivery. This was so convenient as we had so much to transport to the park anyway and a trip to the bakery to pick up the cake would have been a headache.

The birthday cake was a hit with everyone. The actual cake is light and fluffy, not too sweet, with a blueberry filling. The only turn off was the excessive red food colouring in the icing, which stained my fingers and as well as the kids' mouths and faces (of the messy eaters!). I hope there were no hyperactive fits that night.

Of course different cakes have different levels of food colouring and I think next time I would think about this and try for something a little less vibrant. But all in all, for kids' birthday cakes, I would recommend ecreative for their wide range of cakes, great service, tasty cakes and free delivery.
