I am finally announcing the two winners of my competition to win the beautiful birthday, anniversary and address book, Staying in Touch by Rosio Flynn. Congratulations to Ori Cohen and Pam Nge who both wrote in to give me some very useful tips on how to improve the blog.
I would like to share a few suggestions made by Ori and Pam. I am grateful for the time they spent writing to me and I hope I will be able to put a lot of the suggestions into action.
Ori suggested I get my own domain name, rather than using the "blogspot", and this is the first thing I have done, hence the URL address is now Singaporekidsplaces.com. This gives the blog more credibility and has actually helped with the traffic as the domain name is now search engine optimised!
He has also suggested I reorganise the ads on the right hand sidebar and make the header smaller so the you don't have to scroll down so far to read the post. He also suggested getting rid of the annoying tool bar at the bottom and changing the design of the page so that snippets of each post can be read and to read more you click through to the article. This magazine style design is exactly what I want, so hang on for some radical changes!
Pam talked more about the content of the blog, and said she would like to read more about educational services and activities for young children in Singapore. She also suggested that I include a map to show readers where the place I am writing about is in Singapore. Her other great suggestion was to organise the content into age groups, and state which age group the activity was appropriate for.
Thank you so much guys, I think you were both spot-on with your suggestions and I hope to be able to put most, if not all into practise. I will be getting in touch with you via email to organise delivery of your book.
I have another exciting giveaway coming up in the next few days so do check back :)
